16 Personalities
I got Entertainer, because my personality seems to be very outgoing, energetic, and focused on living in the moment. This type fits me because I enjoy excitement, new experiences, and being around other people. I like to keep things fun and interesting, and I usually bring a lot of energy into the situations I am in. The description also says ESFPs are bold, original, positive, and enthusiastic, which makes sense because I like expressing myself, trying new things, and making life feel less boring.
A lot of the strengths and weaknesses also explain why I got this result. My strengths show that I am good with people, hands-on, observant, and social, which means I connect easily with others. At the same time, some of the weaknesses fit too, like being sensitive to criticism, getting bored easily, avoiding conflict, and not always focusing on long-term plans. That tells me I am someone who enjoys the present and likes freedom, but I can also struggle when things become too serious, repetitive, or stressful. Overall, I got ESFP because my answers showed that I am fun-loving, expressive, and more focused on real experiences and relationships than strict planning or routines.

Letter to Future IB Students
Dear IB Students,
As you begin with IB Photography, be prepared to challenge yourself both creatively and personally. This class is more than just taking pictures; it’s about learning how to see the world differently. You’ll explore techniques, artists, and develop your own style! At times, it may feel overwhelming, especially when worrying about deadlines, but every project you’ll do there is to help you grow. Stay open-minded and don’t be afraid to open yourself up!
One of the most important things you can do is stay organized and manage your time well. Keep track of your process portfolio, document all of your steps, and reflect on your work. These reflections are just as important as the final images. Also, take advantage of feedback to create artworks that will truly shape you as an artist. It might feel intimidating at first, but criticism will make your work stronger. Remember that improvement comes from being willing to change.
Lastly, enjoy the experience and make it your own. Use your photography to express your thoughts, emotions, and perspective on the world. This class will give you freedom to explore topics that matter to you and the world, so take that opportunity to express that. Don’t compare your work too much to others and just focus on your growth. By the end of the year, you’ll be surprised at how much you’ve grown creatively and be extremely grateful for all the fun experiences you’ve had!
Sincerely,
A former IB student

For my poster, I chose to do police brutality. The reason I chose police brutality is because there is so much controversy around this topic, but we see it regularly throughout the police force and citizens. I must clarify though, I know it is not all cops that are this way and want change also within their place of work. But there are many police that profile, beat, and detain innocent citizens over things that are our rights, such as freedom of speech. There are many who are racists and enforce violence, such as the situation of George Floyd in 2020. There are countless situations where the police use violence for no apparent reason that no one is aware of. These things truly influence my opinion of the police and their doings.

IB Photo Assignment #2
When using the simulator, it was very helpful to understand aperture, ISO, and shutter speed. Learning it at first was confusing, but by using the simulator it taught me what I was doing wrong and what to improve. For example, just playing around with the ISO and aperture while taking pictures like that looked wrong, either overexposed or underexposed, or just unappealing. Learning how to adjust the settings on each helped to make my photo clearer, brighter, and focused. Doing that over and over again helps to retain the information in my brain. Being able to see what I’ve done wrong and what I can do to make it look better helped me to really understand what ISO, aperture, and shutter speed can do after using this stimulation.
IB Photo Assignment #1
- Aperture is how big or small the lenses open and closes. Shutter speed is how fast the shutters open and close. ISO is the camera’s sensitivity to light.
- You would need to change your ISO depending on the lighting. In darker areas you would need to raise it, and in lighter areas you would lower it.
- Aperture priority allows you to adjust the aperture while the camera choose the shutter speed, and shutter priority allows you to adjust the shutter speed while it chooses the aperture.
- AF (autofocus) controls how the camera focuses. You would change this by using the camera’s AF/MF or drive mode menu or a dedicated button/dial.
- You meter the light to measure how bright it is so the camera can set the correct aperture, shutter speed, and ISO for balance.
- A normal lens shows a view like the human eye, a wide angle lens captures more of a scene, and a telephone lens magnifies distant objects with a narrow view.
- White balance changes color tones so white looks truly white under different lighting, it helps to prevent photos from looking too orange or blue.
- Depth of field is how much focus the photo has from front to back. Shallow means only a small part is sharp, making the background blurry. Good keeps most of the scene in focus.
- Drive modes control how the camera takes pictures, single shots, continuous, and timer. Metering modes determine how the camera measures light, a whole scene, center weighted. or a specific area.
- Exposure compensation lets you make a picture lighter or darker than the camera’s automatic settings by changing the exposure value.
